Simulation exercise in Jämtland

On November 17, KMC conducted a major simulation exercise in the county of Jämtland in north Sweden. In a pilot project has Jämtland County Council been trained in disaster management and staff procedure skills. This has been done in collaboration with the National Board of Health and Wellfare, KMC and GREEN Management Academy. The regional plan for preparedness in major incidents has meanwhile been revised.

The scenario was a major train accident at a level crossing between the fast speed train X2000 and a truck. As a simulation tool Emergo Train System was used. Emergo Train System is an educational simulation tool which allows linking resource and managment decisions to patient outcome.

A total of about 70 people participated and they came from different parts of the health care system and liasion partners.

Two representatives from the emergency preparedness in Norway participated since the county is close to Norwegian border.
