About the university hospital

The University Hospital in Linöping has 600 beds and around 5 500 employees who all work to create safe and effective care for our patients. We provide advanced, high quality health care with extra focus on a number of nationally, highly specialised areas.

Our catchment area, with respect to highly specialised care, is the south eastern health care region (Jönköping, Kalmar and Östergötland counties) with a total of about one million inhabitants. The hospital provides local health care for the central parts of Östergötland and some of the specialised health care for the whole of the county.

Close cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences at Linköping University, lays the ground for an open research climate and animated development within health care. We also provide an interesting and wide range of basic, further and extended training courses for most health care oriented occupations.
